Apaches to host five-team jamboree tonight
Glenbrook kicked-off their school year by hosting their annual "Back to School Night," at the school Thursday, and will kick-off their 2011 football season as they host a five-team jamboree tonight.
Teams from Glenbrook, Claiborne Academy, Cenla Christian, Riverdale and Union Christian will take part.
"The jamborees are a good way for schools to get the kids into game-shape before the first game," Glenbrook head coach Ryan Porter said. "We'll start at 6 p.m. and each game will be two 15-minute quarters."
Union Christian and Cenla's B team will kick off the night at 6 p.m., and Claiborne Academy and Riverdale will follow at 7 p.m. Glenbrook and Cenla's A team will cap off the evening at 8 p.m.
The Glenbrook Booster Club will be selling fish plates for $5 at the game.
The Apaches will look to work the kinks out before beginning their regular season next week at home against Riverdale.
"Things have been going good," Porter said. "We've been working hard and trying to get ready for the jamboree and our first game next week. We're looking forward to it."
