Ceremony Thursday to remember those lost

Nearly 3,000 persons, including 343 firefighters and 72 law enforcement officers, lost their lives 13 years ago when terrorists attacked America on September 11, 2001, and the Minden High School Junior ROTC is making sure those who lost their lives that day are remembered.

A special flag lowering ceremony honoring those who died will be held at 9 a.m., Thursday in the southwest end zone of Tide Stadium where the MHS graduating class of 2011 dedicated a twin towers memorial to 9-11, Lt. Col. (USArmy-Ret) Robert Peden, senior army instructor of the MHS JROTC, said.
