Lewis takes fifth in New York; Collins wins at Byrd Invite

The Lakeside track team stretched from New York City to Shreveport on Saturday and Sunday. While Chris Lewis competed at the National H.S. Indoor Championship in New York, his teammates had a big day at the prestigious Byrd Relays.

On Saturday, Lewis finished second in his 60 meter pre-lim running a 6.84. This moved him to the Sunday semi-finals where he placed second in his heat running a 6.84. Lewis then matched his personal best of 6.81 finishing fifth in the nine-man race in the finals.
