Early voting is currently under way for those involved in the December 8 run-off race.
Early voting hours: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Webster Parish Courthouse through Saturday, December 1.
All of Webster Parish will vote in the District Judge race. Republicans Mike Nerren and Whit Graves are vying for that spot.
But in addition to the judge's race, there is a runoff for top lawman in Sibley between incumbent police chief Jeremy Robinson and challenger "Frank" Chanler.
In Cullen, voters will also be electing a mayor. Current appointed mayor Dexter Turner is facing Terrell Mendenhall.
According to Webster Parish Registrar of Voters Melanie Smith, only 31 register voters cast ballots the first day of early voting.
As registrar and a citizen, Smith is encouraging all eligible citizens to become active and informed voters.
"As Americans, no right is more precious than the constitutional right to vote and select your leaders," Smith said. "Your vote affects your nation, your state and your local community. The decisions that are made by the leaders who are elected, affect you and your family every day."
