High school football schedules released

With a string of 100 degree days behind us, and a few more in front of us, not many people in Webster Parish are thinking football. But the high school football season is right around the corner.

Schedules for the Webster Parish high school football teams were released recently, and the first game on those schedules is just weeks away.

The Minden Crimson Tide will have to replace a number of quality players from last season, and they will also face a tough schedule.

Minden will play in a shuffled 1-4A with five district games closing out the season.

The Tide will open their season on September 2, as they travel to Stonewall to take on the 3A North DeSoto Griffins.

The Tide will open their home schedule with a Set. 9 game against 5A West Ouachita. Long-time rival, and new to 5A, the Haughton Buccaneers will travel to The Pit for a Sept. 16 match-up

The following week Minden will play their second tough road game in a row as they head to Ruston on Sept. 30.

The Warriors will travel to Ringgold on Sept. 2 to open their schedule and then return home the next Friday to open their home schedule with a game against Lakeview.

The Warriors will step up a couple of classes on Sept. 16 as they head to Bossier to take on the 5A Parkway Panthers.
