Friday, July 1, marked the beginning of Louisiana's fiscal year with $25 billion in spending plans slated for state agency operations and programs. But Gov. Bobby Jindal hasn't yet completed his review of the budget or decided what, if anything, he'll strip with his line-item veto.

Officials say the new budget year often starts on July 1 while the budget bill awaits action on the governor's desk.
