A memorial service celebrating the life of Bill Sistrunk will be held at 10 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert Dandridge.
Bill was born Dec. 30, 1937 in Tallulah and entered into rest Feb. 25, 2013 in Minden. Bill retired as a Master Sergeant after 20 years in the United States Air Force. He also retired after 20 years with the United States Postal Service. He was an avid gardener and fisherman and loved his log cabin on Lake Bistineau where he spent many happy hours with friends, family, and sharing ministry with his St. John's parish family.
His parents, W.R. Sistrunk, Sr. and Mary Miller Smith; brothers, David and Stephen Sistrunk; son, William D. Sistrunk; and grandson, Jacob Sistrunk preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Wylie Sistrunk; sons, David R. Sistrunk and wife, Robin and David R. Weston; sister, Edna Moates and husband, Joe; grandchildren, Stephanie Giddens and husband, Michael, Samantha Rainey and husband, Clayton, Dylan Sistrunk and Katelin Weston; and great-grandchildren Channing and Rylan Rainey.
