SIBLEY — The Lakeside Warriors dropped a District 2-2A game to Homer, 76-43, Tuesday night at Lakeside.
"It was just another night where we played well for most of the game, and then ran out of gas," Lakeside head coach Jason Gould said. "We just don't have the experience and ammunition to pull these games out right now."
The Warriors were playing without two starters who average 19 points per game between them.
"It was just too much for our kids to overcome," Gould said. "But I was proud of our kids and the way they played. They played hard the whole way."
The game was close early, and the Warriors only trailed 32-23 at the half.
"The game started off pretty well," Gould said. "We played real well. We were patient with the ball and took some good shots, and when Homer missed, we were there to get the rebound. We felt good going into halftime."
Homer out-scored Lakeside, 28-13 in the third quarter.
"That kind of blew the game open for them," Gould said.
Nyles Moore led the Warriors with 12 points and eight rebounds, and Darrly Moore and Frankie Miles each added eight points.
