Game Warriors:Gaming for a Cause holds tournament

Game Warriors: Gaming for a Cause is holding a video game tournament at the Webster Parish Fair Grounds Forestry Building. Proceeds will benefit the national non-profit, RAAIN- which helps victims of sexual assault and abuse. There is a $10 entry fee and first and second places will receive gift cards.

Steve Day fundraiser held at coffee shop

Baked Goods Fundraiser for Steve Day, a local man diagnosed with cancer, will be held at MoJeaux A-Gogh-Gogh Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.. There will be live music.

NRA holds banquet

Kisatchie Friends of NRA will hold its annual banquet Saturday, September 29 at the Minden Civic Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Half of all proceeds stay in Webster Parish to help kids learn about gun safety.

Bluegrass Festival held at Germantown Colony

It's time to load up the lawn chairs and get ready for the "best in Bluegrass music" Saturday, September 29 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., at the Germantown Colony Museum

The list of musicians includes the Blake Brothers, Home Sweet Harmony, Steppin' Out, Main Street Harmony, James Sandidge, Country Switch, Mill Creek and more.

Admission for adults is $5 and free for children under 12. Complimentary shuttle buses will be available from downtown Minden, across from the civic center, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Germantown Colony Museum is located seven miles northeast of Minden on Germantown Road. For more information call Robin at 426-4691.

Animals receive blessing

A Blessing of the Animals will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church Sunday, September 30 at 4 p.m. on the patio. Bill Bryant will officiate. The public is invited; please bring all animals on a leash or restrained.
