Funeral services for Mr. Jimmy Robert Tyler, 74, will be held Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, with Rev. Todd McKamie and Rev. Joseph Stacks officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Visitation will be held today (Tuesday, August 28, 2012) from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Tyler was born June 6, 1938 in Springhill to Roy Hudson and Nolia Thelma Mason Tyler and passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012 at his home in Taylor, Arkansas.
He is a native of Springhill, a former resident of Texarkana, Texas, then moving back to Lake Earling. Mr. Tyler was retired from General Telephone Electric Company after 30 years of service. He was a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church where he served his Lord and church. Mr. Tyler was an avid fisherman and gardener. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ruth Charles Tyler of Taylor, Arkansas; son, James Richard Tyler and wife, Dorothy of Taylor; four grandchildren, Christopher Tyler and wife, Bobbie Jo, Sarah Tyler, Jimmy Mack Hall and wife, Jennifer and J.D. Hall and wife, Vicky; great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Mathew, Jordan, Jared, Hailey, Landon, Lizzie, Sophie and Kylie; brother, Herman Tyler and wife, Patsy; and host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Tyler was preceded in death by his parents; his half-sister, Sybil Sears; and half-brother, Harold Sears.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Charles, Jim Bland, Lloyd Clements, Jimmy Mack Hall, J.D. Hall and Jimmy McKamie.
