Thursday afternoon, Glenbrook's Beaux Gipson signed a letter-of-intent to play football at Mississippi College in Jackson, MS. next fall.
Apache head coach Ryan Porter was very excited for his senior quarterback to get the chance to play for the Choctaws.
"This is a great opportunity for Beaux," he said. "I'm really excited that he's going to get to play for Norman Joseph."
Porter played under and coached with Joseph, MC's head coach, and runs the same offense at Glenbrook.
"Beaux already knows the offense," Porter said. "He can walk right in there as a freshman and call the plays. He will already know 85% of their offense, that played a major part in him going there. He's going to go in there as the front runner of the freshman and transfer quarterbacks."
The Choctaws' quarterback will be a senior this fall, and Gipson will be able to compete for playing time. Gipson ran and passed for more than 1,000 yards this season at Glenbrook.
"Beaux has an outstanding opportunity before him," Porter said. "I'm really excited about him going to play for coach Joseph. He's got a legitimate chance to be the back-up and push the starter for playing time."
