Funeral services for Mr. Hubert Allen Bryan, 90, will be held Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, Springhill, with Bro. Todd Pickard and Bro. Joseph Stacks officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery, Walker Creek, Arkansas under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.
Visitation will be held today (Wednesday) from 5 until 8 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home.
Mr. Bryan was born Jan. 21, 1921 in Bussey, Arkansas to Henry Anderson and Mary Josephine Rose Bryan and passed away Monday, August 22, 2011 in Taylor, Arkansas.
He was a lifelong resident of this area, was of the Baptist faith, member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and a U.S. Army World War II Prisoner of War. Mr. Bryan was also the owner of a service station, store owner, farmer, boat camp operator, tree farmer and gardener par excellence.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn Fish Bryan of Taylor, Arkansas; daughter, Judy Bishop and husband, Dickie of Mt. View, Arkansas; sons, Andy Bryan and wife, Darlene of Taylor, Arkansas, Mark Bryan and wife, Yolanda of Magnolia, Arkansas and David Bryan of Tucson, Arizona; brother, Harold, R. "Jack" Bryan of Taylor, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Allen Bishop and wife, Michelle, Alice Clark and husband, Briton, Bryan Bishop, Courtney Riddle and husband, Jason and Nathan Bryan; four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Ben, Cameron and Amelia; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Bryan was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil Bryan; sisters, Cleo Stewart Walker, Deo Clary and infant daughter, Jane Bryan.
Pallbearers will be Allen Bishop, Bryan Bishop, Nathan Bryan, Jason Riddle, Mikey Whitehead and Cody Goodwin.
Honorary pallbearers will be nephews, Ron Stewart, Jackie Bryan, Sandy Bryan, Don Bryan, Jon Bryan, Bob Bryan, Rod Bryan, Lenny Bryan and Terry and Johnny Young, sons of John Young, best friend and former POW with Mr. Bryan.
