Funeral services for Vonceil Baylis will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Ramsey and Rev. Scott Laliberte. Interment will follow at Providence Cemetery in Ringgold.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. today (Friday, August 19, 2011) at Rose-Neath Funeral Home.
Vonceil was born Nov. 15, 1947 in Rayville and entered into rest August 18, 2011 in Shreveport.
Vonceil was retired from LA DOTD with 33 years of service. She was a wonderful cook, a great friend to many and had such a compassionate love for animals. She will always be remembered for all the laughter, happiness, kindness and love she brought to others.
Her parents, Calvin and Jewell Brown and infant son, David Wyatt Baylis preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Jerry Wyatt Baylis; beloved son, Jason Baylis of Minden; two loving brothers, Billy Calvin Brown and wife, Betty and Kenneth Brown and wife, Juanita; one loving sister, Mary Evelyn Kennedy and husband, Gerald; three sisters-in-law, Robbye Baylis, Sue Botelho and Beverly Sanderson; a brother-in-law Terry Baylis and wife, Jeri; four nieces; two nephews; 10 great-nieces; four great-nephews; three great-great-nephews and a host of many other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dwayne Brown, Tony Fuller, Nathanael Kennedy, Joey Odom, Jay McEachern and Ronnie Mouser.
Honorary pallbearers will be Unit 530 of LA DOTD.
