Called for a Purpose

Joshua 1:1-2 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying, 2Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.

One of the greatest weapons of the enemy is to make us think that God has no purpose for our lives. Purpose, meaning the reason why you exist. Only if satan can bring the believer to believe his lies, then our destiny could be adversely affected.

As we take a look at the text we note that God is calling Joshua. He is not calling Joshua to be a follower as he followed Moses and stood as his personal servant or minister. God is calling Joshua to step into his purpose as leader. It's common that purpose will find you as it did Joshua, but it's our choice to respond to what God has purposed for our lives. Purpose gives you drive and energy to do and move purposeful, not to mention fulfillment. Purpose gives you something to press toward in life with the dream to fulfill that something

It is when you step into purpose that God graces you with the anointing (supernatural enabling power of God through the Holy Spirit) to go forth in what He called you to do. Note that God not only gave Joshua the assignment to move into purpose, but he gave Joshua Assurance and all that was necessary to make purpose happen. When God calls you to your assignment, you can already anticipate that God will align everything for you to walk in. God will give you the provision, guidance and favor when you move and respond to purpose. It's becomes dangerous to man when life is lived without discovering or responding to purpose. Today seek God to understand your purpose, then you will truly get to know the true fulfillment for your life.
