Parish baseball teams face busy week

Minden High falls to Ruston

The Webster Parish baseball teams are facing a busy week of games. All the parish teams play at least twice, with Doyline playing three times and Lakeside four.

Here's a brief look at all the parish baseball games scheduled for this week.

Minden High

The Crimson Tide will begin District 1-4A play this Thursday night when they host the Northwood Falcons at Griffith Stadium at 6 p.m.

Monday night the Tide traveled to Ruston for a non-district game with the Ruston Bearcats, with Ruston coming out on top, 9-0.

The game came down to just one bad inning for the Tide. The Tide pitchers put zeros in every inning but the third, when Ruston was able to score nine runs on a couple of Tide miscues and a few timely hits.

Hutton Leppert had a single and a double to lead the Tide, and Turner Francis, Mikey James and Thomas Pevy all added singles.

The Tide will look to bounce back in front of their home crowd Thursday night.

The Lakeside Warriors will have a busy week, playing four times.

Today they will travel to Jonesboro for a 6 p.m. game, and then will host Loyola on Wednesday in a re-scheduled game.

Thursday the Warriors will host Homer and then they will play at Northwood on Friday.
