Pattern for Prayer: Asking

"Give us each day our daily bread." Luke 11:3 HCSB

Using the word PRAY as an acrostic, the letter "A" stands for Asking. Asking is acknowledging that even basic necessities come from God for all people.

Just as God provided manna bread each day for the children of Israel as they wandered in the wilderness, God provides the necessities of life for us each day. We are to constantly depend on God to sustain our lives. He is concerned about our situation. He desires to have us share our burdens and the burdens of others with Him in prayer. We are to talk with God daily, asking Him to provide our daily needs.

Lord Jesus, I am grateful for the privilege of praying and asking for daily life-sustaining provisions. Teach me how to pray for my needs and for the needs of others.
