Three new trucks are part of a waste collection system hoped to increase waste pickup efficiency and safety in Minden.
"The way the system is designed is to pick up one side of the street at a time," Allied Waste's Minden Operation Manager Kevin Ponder said. "That not only is for safety factors, but it also increases productivity."
Two "Slammin Eagle" automated front loaders and one brush truck will enter full service as soon as crews are trained, according to Ponder. One is already in use in some areas.
