Today kicks off the first day of the Webster Parish Library's (WPL) summer reading program.

"This year we have programs for all age groups," said Barbara Martin, adult services librarian for WPL. "For the adult program, activities will include watching a film, reading an international mystery, learning travel tips, planning a dream trip and more."

"Novel Destinations" is the summer's theme for adults, which will be held at the main branch, located in Minden. The 2011 Adult Summer Reading Program is open to adults ages 18 and older, with programs, prizes, book discussions, and special events.

The adult program will run concurrently with the children's – "One World, Many Stories" and teen – "You Are Here" programs.

All ages are welcome to attend these events and calendars are available at the Minden branch, which detail the dates and times of events for each program.

Summer Reading shirts and bags are available for purchase. For more information, visit the library's Web site at websterparishlibrary.org or call the main branch at 371-3080.
