BESE votes to join lawsuit challenging Jindal

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana's state school board is joining a lawsuit against Gov. Bobby Jindal, accusing the governor of illegally meddling in education policy in his efforts to block use of the Common Core education standards.

Jindal opposes the multi-state standards, while Education Superintendent John White and most members of the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education continue to support them.
