HOMER — The Glenbrook Apaches improved to 13-4 overall and 6-1 in district after an 11-1 rout of Claiborne Academy on Tuesday.
"We were able to capitalize on a couple of C.A. errors early on," Glenbrook coach Jonathan Hardy said. "We scored six runs in the third after a couple of their mistakes. Other than that, we had several other key hits with runners in scoring position."
Glenbrook starter Spencer White upped his record to 4-1 with a very good outing. He allowed just three hits over five innings, striking out three batters. Jacob White then came in and pitched a scoreless sixth inning, striking out one.
Bailey Petit led the way at the plate with a pair of singles, a double and two runs batted in. Austin Jones had two hits and two RBIs and Spencer White had a hit and three RBIs. Logan Clark and Cameron Matthews each had two hits, and Clay Simonton had two RBIs and a base hit. Connor Clark added an RBI-single.
Next up for the Apaches will be a jv/varsity doubleheader with Prairie View in Bastrop on Saturday. Varsity plays at noon with the jv to follow.
