A drug distributor wanted on the federal level was taken into custody while picking up a friend at work.
North Webster Drug Task Force agents, along with officials from the U.S. Marshal's office arrested Eddie Mack (aka Fat Mack) George, 32, of Sherwood Apartments, Springhill.
He is charged with three counts of distribution of crack cocaine.
According to reports, Webster Parish Sheriff's Lt. Shawn Baker, Springhill Police Chief Will Lynd and Springhill Narcotics Det. Ronald Wedgeworth met U.S. Marshal's agents in Plain Dealing after learning that Mack was spotted taking a subject to and from work at a nursing home.
George has reportedly been eluding law enforcement for about seven weeks after he learned there were warrants for his arrest for distribution of crack cocaine.
Law enforcement officers from both agencies reportedly surrounded Mack's vehicle when he arrived a the nursing home. He was taken into custody without incident.
He was booked into the Bossier Parish Maximum Security facility and later transported to Springhill Police Department where he was processed.
Mack was then taken to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center where bond was set at $50,000. However, a hold was placed on him by Probation and Parole.
