Flag disposal set for Saturday

There's a right way to properly dispose of our nation's symbol, and Minden High School Junior ROTC cadets plan to join Saturday with the local VFW chapter to give individuals the opportunity to show their respect for the flag.

Residents may bring their worn flags to the VFW building located at the Minden fairgrounds Saturday, Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. where proper disposal will be guaranteed, said Lt. Col. (U.S. Army-Ret) Robert Peden, senior Army instructor of the MHG Junior ROTC program.
