Deputies nail drug dealer

troyNarcotics officers with the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office are taking down drug dealers as quickly as possible.

Troy Derek Bussy, 27, of the 100 block of Simmons Road, Doyline, has been arrested on two charges of distribution of CDS Sch. II (Methamphetamine).

According to WPSO Chief Deputy Bobby Igo, Jr., Bussy has been a "thorn in our side for a long time."

"We've been watching him for a long time," Igo said. "We got a search warrant for his house and were able to make a successful arrest."

Capt. Robert Hayden and WPSO narcotics deputies Joel Thomas and Bobby Igo, III executed the search warrant and arrested Bussy on two outstanding warrants for distribution.

He is currently at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center under bonds totalling $30,000.

This is the second "big" bust agents have made in the south end of the parish in recent days.

In late December, deputies arrested Andre Eason of Central School Road in Dubberly on six counts of distribution of CDS Sch. II (cocaine), as well as other charges.

"Like with Eason, this (Bussy) is another one of those cases where we were getting information from residents down there," Igo said. "Sometimes it takes a while to get all of our information and evidence together."

Igo said the narcotics agents have been checking out narcotics tips all over the parish.

"We will continue to make this type of bust," he said. "We just have to wait for the right time."

Gathering indisputable evidence makes it easier for the Webster District Attorney to do his job.

"We want the DA to be able to try these cases," Igo said. "We have a DA that does a wonderful job, and we want to do our part the same way."

Igo said he hopes residents in the parish will continue to feed the sheriff's office information concerning drug dealers.

"We're excited with the teamwork among all the (law enforcement) agencies," Igo said. "And we will continue to work all the areas of the parish to get these drug dealers."
