BATON ROUGE —Lakeside standout sprinter, Chris Lewis, began his 2013 indoor track season in impressive fashion at the LSU Tiger Classic on Saturday. The junior speedster dominated a field of 82 sprinters from five states winning with a nation leading high school time of 6.35 in the 55 meter dash.
Lewis won his preliminary, cruising to a 6.50 which lead the 10 qualifiers into the finals. Using a great start Lewis then easily won the final clocking a 6.35 to a 2nd place time of 6.50. This marks the third straight year that Lewis has sprinted in the 6.3s in the 55.
Coach David Kidd was very pleased with the races stating that this definitely qualifies Lewis for the state indoor championships in late February.
