3 arrested in alleged land grab scheme

HEFLIN — A group of Heflin residents who allegedly attempted to lay claim to land and a residence near Lake Bistineau have instead managed to claim space at the parish lockup.

Sheriff Gary Sexton said the unusual series of events surfaced Saturday when a deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of McCrary Road to answer a call that unknown persons had broken into a residence there.
