Lower rating = lower rates

Fire department works toward lower fire rating

City of Minden firemen have been working for five years toward a lower fire rating in hopes to lower Minden property owner's insurance rates.

Minden's present rating is "3," which is great, according to Fire Chief Kip Mourad, but a lower rating means less money out of the property owner's pocket.
