City tax up for 3-peat

Residents to vote on downtown property tax

Some voters refuse to pull a lever if it means they will have to pay a tax. But the City of Minden is asking voters Saturday to approve the continuation of a tax that most will never have to pay.

"Everybody in Minden votes on it, but only the property owners that are within the downtown district pay the tax," said Downtown Development Director Pattie Odom. "It comes back into the district to be used within the district."
