Bill Drury, a leading motivational speaker in the business industry, was in town earlier this week to present his seminar "A Passion for Service," which was sponsored by the Minden South Webster Chamber of Commerce.
"I am really impressed with the turnout," said Drury, who was trained by motivational speaker Zig Ziglar. "For the invitations sent out, there seemed to be a 15 percent return, and that is great.
"Back in the Zig Ziglar days, we would present this to a population in California much larger than Minden and only have a one percent return on invitations," he continued. "The high level of participation from chamber members really says something great about this community."
Chamber President Jerri de Pingre' said hosting seminars is one way the chamber works to help business.
"The chamber is excited to sponsor such worthwhile workshops for our community," she said. "'A Passion for Service' was well-received by all who attended.
"Bill Drury did an excellent job of keeping attendees engaged with his wit and dynamic style," she continued. "The information he shared will go a long way in improving the overall customer service of the businesses represented."
After hearing "fantastic" feedback about Drury's program, de Pingre' said she was delighted to offer the seminar through the chamber.
"Drury was the national training consultant for the Zig Ziglar Corporation," she said. "He speaks, trains and travels extensively and has proven to be one of the most effective and entertaining speakers in the industry. It is a real treat for our community to have such a high caliber speaker share with us."
