The Glenbrook Lady Apaches improved to 7-1 in district play with a 4-2 win over Franklin Academy on Wednesday.
The game was tied 2-2 until the bottom of the sixth, when Taylor Simpson and Megan Sims scored a pair of runs to put Glenbrook ahead. Lucille Dayton shut the Cougars down in the top of the seventh to seal the game.
Graycn Gorman and Leanna Cooper scored the Lady Apaches' first two runs in the bottom of the first inning.
"This was avery big district win for us," Glenbrook head coach Jonathan Hardy said.
Jessica Mangrum pitched the first five innings to get the win for Glenbrook. She had five strikeouts. Dayton struck out three in her two innings for the save.
Gorman led the team with a double and Cooper, Sims and Mangrum all add singles.
The Lady Apaches will be back in action today at 5:30 p.m. at Claiborne Academy. They will play at UCA on Saturday and then at Franklin Academy on Monday.
Next Thursday, the Lady Apaches will celebrate Senior Day against Central School.
