I Love to Tell the Story

I love to tell The Story...of unseen things above, of Jesus and His glory, of Jesus, and His love; I love to tell the story because I know 'tis true; It satisfies my longings as nothing else can do. (Hankey, Fischer).

Many are reading the new edition of THE STORY, a collections of 31 chapters revealing the God of grace - the God who speaks and acts, the God who listens to and loves his people, the God who sacrificed His only Son, to atone the sins of humanity. The Biblical accounts tell of the same God who is alive and active today. He still is listening and acting; He is still pouring out His grace on us. The gist of this book is to challenge readers to "listen for God's call upon your life" as we write our own story about God's love for us as individuals.

Max Lucado and Randy Frazee have complied THE STORY into a unique and easy-to-read book that opens a door to God's truth. Each of the 'stories' contains portions of the Scripture that were thoughtfully and prayerfully excerpted and then placed in chronological order. Each text was chosen to retain the "overflow of the narrative" so one can get a sense of the 'big picture' of the Bible.

This is not just any story, but THE STORY is one of power to change who we are, what we think and how we view life. In the epilogue there are suggestions of the global impact this story has to the world today. A discussion guide with questions are included for group study if chosen to be used that way.

This summer would be a great way to expose yourself to the deep, transforming truths of these chosen stories. The NIV Bible was used for the text. These two scholars present a continuing story of God love, disciplining and redeeming of His people. This is just another way we can keep telling THE STORY. (I love to tell THE STORY, 'Twill be my theme in glory to tell the old, old STORY of Jesus and His love.).
