Shively, Greene and Soto take SAU Titles

Junior high Warriors take second straight meet

MAGNOLIA, AR. —The Lakeside Warrior Cross-Country teams continued their successful season at the Southern Arkansas University Invitational meet at Magnolia.

Hannah Shively, Eric Green and Enrique Soto all won individual titles, and the varisty boys' team finished in second place. The junior high team won their second straight meet.

The Lakeside Varsity boy's team scored 46 points to finish runner-up to Trinity Christian of Arkansas with 41 points.

Enrique Soto remained undefeated for the season with a 16:29 5K run. Teammate Zach Levesque finished second at 18:02. James Taylor was seventh at 18:57. Eric Greene who earlier won the Jr. High meet finished 16th at 20:18. Austin McGinty took 20th at 20:25.

Other Warrior finishers were Travis Walker at (26th) (21:06), Stephen France (47th) (24:46), Ryan McFarland (52) (25:32), and Austin Pike (54 (25:46).

Hannah Shively led the Lady Warriors with an outstanding 21:09 over the 5K course to place first. Anna Davidson placed third at 23:19 and Heather Schenk was fourth at 23:38.

Alissa Landers lead the junior high girls with a 9:20 run over the 1 1/2 mile course. This time earned the 7th grader second place.

For the second straight week the Jr. High boys won the championship with a low score of 32 points. Eric Greene won his fourth straight race running 7:52 over 1 1/2 miles.

Nic Petty took 3rd at 8:08. Stephen France finished 7th, Austin Pike was 9th, J.R. Mueller was 12th, Cody Robinson was 18th, and Alex Robles finished 19th.

The next action for the Junior High Warriors will be in Monroe on Sat., Oct. 15, where they will compete in the Louisiana State Junior High Championships.

On that same day the Warrior varsitty squads will travel to Alexandria to compete in the Menard Invitational. Enrique Soto will try to win his third straight Menard championship.
