Kelly Lynn Hughes of Minden and Samuel Andrew Hodge of Shreveport were united in marriage on March 26, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church in Ruston. Bro. Bill Reid officiated the afternoon ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tommy John Hughes of Minden. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hughes of Minden and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harmon.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hodge of Shreveport. He is the grandson of Dorothy Lamson of Baton Rouge, the late Frederick Lamson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hodge.
Given in marriage by the bride's parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a beautiful strapless gown made of taffeta by Jasmine Bridal. The sweetheart neckline was adorned with much embroidery and lavish bead work. The back of the gown had a stream of buttons that led to a beautiful Tiffany train.
The bride carried a bouquet of a variety of pink and white gerbera daisies that were wrapped with a beautiful handkerchief that belonged to her great-grandmother.
Laura Taylor, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor. Gina Spatafore, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor. Katherine Hodge and Sarah Hodge, sisters of the groom, served as bridesmaids. They each wore chocolate taffeta style dresses. Their bouquets were of pink gerbera daisies.
Michael Nelson, friend of the groom, served as best man. T.J. Hughes, brother of the bride, Owen Stell, friend of the bride and groom, and Joshua Fish, friend of the bride and groom, served as groomsmen.
Emily and Landon Chanler were the flower girl and ring bearer. They are special friends of the bride.
Music was provided by Austin Snider, friend of the bride, on the piano.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church.
After a honeymoon trip cruising to Nassau and Freeport, Bahamas and Key West, Florida, the couple made their home in Ruston, Louisiana.
